Rationale :
This course presents the student with theory, research, and practical implementation of concepts related to leadership and motivation. As future employees and/or employers, this gives each student the knowledge and the practice of working with and understanding organizational issues related to both leadership and motivation. This class is essential to understanding and working in and for organizations, as motivation and leadership are cornerstone issues that directly relate to the performance/functioning of the organization.

Discussions (4) :
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences.
- Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion.
- Each thread must be at least 400 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge; a minimum of 3 scholarly resources must be included within the main discussion post.
- In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates threads.
- Each reply must be at least 100 words and include at least one scholarly resource for support.
Leadership Theories Case Study Assignment :
The student will complete 1 Case Study from the Northouse text that corresponds to the Reading & Study material for included modules/weeks. The student will answer 3–4 questions for each Case Study.
Remote Leadership Infographic Assignment :
The student will create a 1-page theory-based infographic in the current APA format that focuses on remote leadership effectiveness. The paper must include references to support the theory integrated into the recommendations.
Leadership Assessment Project Assignment :
The student will write a 3-4 page research-based application paper in the current APA format that focuses on how a specific leader can improve leadership effectiveness. The paper must include references to support the theory integrated into the recommendations.
Motivational Theory Intervention Assignment :
The student will write a 4-5 page research and application-based paper in the current APA format that focuses on a scenario in which a leader must use a specific strategy to motivate his/her employees using
information learned from the Latham text. The paper must include at least 5 research articles in addition to the textbook.
All Quizzes (2) :
The student will complete two quizzes (midterm and final), which will cover the Learn material for Modules 1–4 and 5-8, respectively. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 4 essay questions, and have a 2-hour time limit. Each quiz is worth 120 total points and must be completed in one setting (no logging out/in). It is recommended that students save work in a Word document, in case of technical issues.
