Course Explanation:

This course is designed to apply the knowledge and skills developed in previous research and related course work and apply them to the Scholarly Project process. Students will be required to apply scholarly writing skills and understand the ding of the expectations of the scholarly project to develop a scholarly proposal.Browse our list of liberty university courses if you need assistance with additional courses. Students will be guided through the development of a Scholarly Project proposal and must successfully defend the proposal at the end of the course. Reasoning:

In support of the role of the Doctor of Nursing Practice scholar and nurse engaged in advanced nursing practice, this course provides the student with knowledge and skills to engage in scholarly inquiry and conduct a Scholarly Project designed to impact nursing practice, and improve outcomes in health care systems and population /client health.

The course helps to meet the standards of graduate-level nursing education as articulated by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Practice Nursing and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (2006). Practice doctorate nurse practitioner entry-level competencies. Upon completion of NURS 839, the student will be prepared to:

Discussion Board Forum (2)

Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread will demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates threads.

Scholarly Project Proposal Assignments (5)

The student will complete the following 5 Scholarly Project Proposal Assignments using the instructions provided in Blackboard:

  1. Article Critique and Leveling
  2. Develop a Level of Evidence
  3. Table utilizing the Melnyk Pyramid
  4. Introduction and Literature Review
  5. Methodology Paper
  6. Scholarly Project Proposal

Scholarly Project Proposal Defense:

The student will prepare a Scholarly Project Proposal Defense supported by a PowerPoint presentation.

CITI Training:

The student will work independently on completing the CITI training modules. The certificate of completion will be submitted as evidence of completion.

SPSS Assignments (2)

The student will complete 2 SPSS statistical package assignments to become familiar with basic statistical analysis and functions of the package.
