Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided promptly for each discussion. Each thread must be a minimum of 350 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge, and include a minimum of 1 textbook citation and 1 peer-reviewed resource (published within the last 5 years) citation. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Evidence-Based Practice Assignments:

The student will complete three papers in which concepts related to evidence-based practice (EBP) will be examined. The papers will be created using APA-style writing.

Knowing the Terminology:

The student will create a paper in which he or she will expand on the thesis statement, “The terms “research” and “evidence-based practice” are not synonymous.”

Common Barriers:

The student will create a paper in which he or she will expand on the thesis statement, “It is not uncommon to encounter barriers when attempting to implement EBP. Common barriers will be discussed and strategies suggested to counter these influences.”

Innovator:

The student will create a paper in which he or she will expand on the thesis statement, “What is an innovator of EBP? If I aspire to such a role, these are the things that I must do.

The theme of this paper is the Christian worldview and its potential to influence personal decisions regarding research participation, activities, and funding. The paper must be 750 – 1,000 words (3 – 4 pages), and the reference page must contain no less than 2 peer-reviewed resources (published within the last 5 years). Research Critique:

The student will choose a research article to critique. This assignment will be completed in 2 parts, and each critique will require the student to analyze different elements of the chosen article. (BSN Essentials III 1-9; PLOs 3 & 7; MLO F)

Roles in Nursing Research Assignment:

The student will choose a research article to be critiqued. The student will then complete a 750 – 1,000-word (3 – 5-page) critique of the chosen research article according to the required information outlined in Table 14-1 from the textbook. The research critique must include 2–3 peer-reviewed resources (published within the last 5 years), use the current APA format, and include both a title page and a reference page.

Measurements of Success in Nursing Research Assignment:

Utilizing the same research article from Part 1, the student will complete a second critique according to the remaining required information outlined in Table 14-1 from the textbook. The critique must be 750 – 1,000 words (3 – 5 pages), including 2–3 peer-reviewed resources (published within the last 5 years), use the current APA format, and include both a title page and a reference page.
