Rationale
Global employers need leaders who can communicate the organizational mission and processes to a variety of audiences, both internal and external to the organization. By examining military leaders and their leadership styles, students may analyze their own leadership styles as they prepare for a career.
Measurable Learning Outcomes

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will participate in 4 Discussions, each requiring the student to provide an original post of 300–400 words, which must demonstrate comprehension and synthesis of and engagement with course content. Original posts must be well-reasoned responses to instructor-posed questions, with supporting documentation from course readings and other carefully evaluated sources. The student must cite and reference all borrowed words and ideas in original posts and follow-up evaluations of other students’ postings. Evaluations of other students’ postings must demonstrate critical engagement with the ideas and writing of others. Those evaluations must be three paragraphs totaling 300–400 words giving a summary, commendations, and areas for improvement of the other student.

One 5-page research paper in current APA format on a military leader from the textbook or a veteran and the qualities that made that leader or a leader the veteran served with unique and his or her leadership qualities memorable.
Military Leadership Final Research Paper Assignment
One 5-page research paper in current APA format on a military leader and the qualities that made that leader unique and his or her leadership qualities memorable.
Self-Analysis of Leadership Qualities Assignment
One 2- to 3-page reflection paper in current APA format on the student’s own leadership qualities, using the format of the leadership essays found in The Art of Command.
Midterm Exam
The Mid-Term Exam has 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions are open-book/open-notes and have a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Final Exam
The Final Exam has 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions are open-book/open-notes and has a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The final Exam is cumulative.
