Discussions (2)

The student will complete 2 Discussions in this course.

  • The student will post one thread of at least 600-900 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday of the assigned Module.
  • The student must then post two replies of at least 250-350 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the assigned module.
  • For each thread, students must support their assertions with at least four peer-reviewed scholarly citations in APA format.
  • Each reply must incorporate at least 1 scholarly citation in APA format.
  • Any sources cited must have been published within the last five years.
  • Acceptable sources include peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles.
  • Graduate-level writing is expected with no grammar, spelling, or APA formatting mistakes.

Literature Review Assignment

The student will complete a Literature Review in 3 stages:

Discussion: Literature Review: Topic Submission

The student will select and submit the topic they wish to research. Approval from the instructor is required.

Literature Review: Annotated Bibliography and Outline Assignment

The student will submit an Annotated Bibliography with a minimum of 10 annotations (in current APA format, with a cover page and abstract) that they plan on using for the literature review. Any sources must have been published within the last five years.  Acceptable sources include peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles.  Each reference must include a summary, analysis, and assessment (see the six required elements listed in the Annotated Bibliography and Outline Instructions.

The student will also submit a detailed outline of at least 2 pages in the current APA format. Graduate-level writing is expected with no grammar, spelling, or APA formatting mistakes. The final paper will be submitted to SafeAssign.

Literature Review: Final Submission Assignment

The student will research and write an an1800-2100 word Literature Review in current APA format that focuses on a topic relevant to the contemporary issues and practices of leadership and management. The paper must include at least 10 peer-reviewed scholarly journal article references (from Annotated Bibliography and Outline Assignment) with no more than 15% direct quotations. Graduate-level writing is expected with no grammar, spelling, or APA formatting mistakes. The final paper will be submitted to SafeAssign.

Case Study Assignment

For this assignment, the student will write a 1000–1500 word assessment in APA format of their findings and recommendations for improvement at the RST Company and the reason for each recommendation. There will be a title page required, but no abstract.  Perform academic research through the LU Online Library by selecting four peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles and the Satterlee text.  Graduate-level writing is expected with no grammar, spelling, or APA formatting mistakes. The final paper will be submitted to SafeAssign.

PowerPoint Presentation Assignments (2)

The student will complete 2 PowerPoint Presentation Assignments in this course. Each Presentation must include 10-15 slides and demonstrate course-related knowledge of the concepts from the Satterlee and Dees texts.  The assignments will be due at 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the assigned Module. For each presentation, students must support their assertions with at least 3 peer-reviewed scholarly journal article citations, with one additional citation from the text in APA format.

Any sources cited must have been published within the last five years. Acceptable sources include peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles.  Graduate-level writing is expected with no grammar, spelling, or APA formatting mistakes. Summation Assignment

The Summation Assignment corroborates the student’s ability to look at three groups; leadership, management, and followership, and how these three groups’ collaborative efforts are affected in the student’s current place of employment or were affected in one of their previous places of employment.  The student will use the concepts learned throughout the course to propose how changes in management and leadership styles could improve their current employment situation or a previous employment situation.

The student will research and write an 800-1500 word summation. The paper must include at least 3 peer-reviewed scholarly journal article references in addition to the course textbook, with no more than 15% direct quotations. Graduate-level writing is expected with no grammar, spelling, or APA formatting mistakes. The final paper will be submitted to SafeAssign.

Total Quizzes (2)

Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned modules/weeks. Each quiz will be open-book/open-note and contain 1 essay answer question as well as approximately 30 multiple-choice, true/false, and/or matching questions. Each quiz will have a 1-hour and 15-minute time limit.
