Our pressing concern at the inception of the class is that God cares about how we view and use money. This course seeks to meet that challenge by equipping students to biblically guide individuals on how to wisely handle their finances. The student should study the Liberty University syllabus before completing the checklist given in the Course Overview.
Measurable Learning Outcomes :
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Defend the role and authority of the Bible in making financial decisions.
- Analyze and critique various strategies for navigating spending and debt.
- Differentiate and describe various plans for investing and managing debt.
- Justify the rationale and strategy for retirement planning.
- Evaluate and summarize the broad categories of the US Tax System.

Discussions (4) :
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete 4 Discussions that specifically relate to course content. Each discussion will be completed in 2 parts: 1) the student will submit a thread in answer to the question provided (250-word minimum), and 2) the student will then post replies to at least 2 other classmates’ threads (150-word minimum each) (MLO: A, B, C, D, E).
Case Study Paper Assignments (3) :
The student will complete 3 Case Study Paper Assignments. In these assignments, the student will be presented with a specific case scenario applicable to the course material. The student will respond to each case using the material covered in class up to that date. Papers must include 3–4 pages of content and follow current APA formatting (MLO: A, B, C, D, E).
Read & Interact Assignments (15) :
Within this course, students will be required to read and interact with the Kapoor, Dlabay, Hughes, & Hart textbook within the third-party platform, Smartbook. Students must complete each reading and item in the textbook in order to earn the points associated with the assigned reading. (MLO: A, B, C, D, E).

The student will complete 4 quizzes which are cumulative and cover the material presented in the work texts and video presentations. Each quiz is open-book/open-notes and comprised of multiple-choice and true/false questions (MLO: A, B, C, D, E).
