Rationale:
This course is designed to offer the student a hands-on introduction to Word concepts and applications. This course will assist in fulfilling institutional aims through integrating university-level computer competencies.
Measurable Learning Results:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Create and edit a document in Microsoft Word.
- Format a document using Microsoft Word.
- Insert a table, graphics, and internet links into a document.
- Create and edit a document using the “Review” tab and “Track Changes” tool

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will create a thread in response to the provided prompt. Each thread must be at least 250 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the original post, the student will reply to the posts of at least 2 classmates. Each reply must be at least 100 words.

- The Training Assignments are online simulations that allow the student to learn skills in Word.
- The training includes learning aids that explain how to perform each skill, and the student will complete the questions in the assignments by showing each skill in SAM.
- The student will have unlimited attempts when completing the Training Assignments.

- Each SAM Project Assignment will be submitted through SAM.
- The student will download a starter file from SAM for each assignment.
- Once the student has completed the assignment on his or her computer, he or she will upload the file into SAM.
- The assignment will be automatically graded upon submission to SAM.
- The student will be allowed 3 attempts to upload the assignment to improve the score.
Project: Final Assignment
The student will write a Word document of 500–750 words in current APA, MLA, or Turabian format. The topic is a biblical one that requires the student to cite the Bible and use at least 3 additional sources from the library. The student must include a bibliography/works cited/reference page properly following his or her chosen format.
