One of the primary objectives of this course is to provide managers, or those aspiring to that level, with the understanding required to manage the financial decision-making process effectively. Understanding the operations of a firm or a specific capital project from a financial perspective is critical to being a well-rounded manager. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: Textbook readings and lecture presentations/notes : Course Requirements Checklist : After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview. Read & Interact Textbook Assignments (20) : Within this course, students will be required to read and interact with the textbook within the third-party platform, SmartBook. Students must complete each reading and item in the textbook in order to earn the points associated with the assigned reading and prior to completing any Homework Assignment. Discussions (3) : Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Homework Assignments (20) : The student will be assigned homework to complete on the third-party platform, Connect Plus. At the end of the assigned module, Connect Plus will automatically grade all of the assignments and the grades will transfer into Canvas. Business and Faith Integration Paper Assignment : The student will complete an essay describing how the Bible is related to the topics covered in the course. The essay must be at least 1,000 words and include a clear integration of the Bible in relation to a course topic. In addition, at least 2 scholarly sources to substantiate their position (the textbook may be used as 1 source). Sources must be cited in the current APA format. Upon completion, the student will post their paper in the “Discussion: Business and Faith Integration Paper” thread of the discussion board. Replies to other student essays are not required but are strongly encouraged. In addition to the discussion board post, the student must submit the essay to SafeAssign. Quiz: Biblical Worldview : The student will view a video on a biblical worldview and how it relates to one’s profession. The student will then take an untimed quiz consisting of 6 multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions. Overall Quizzes (4) : The student will complete quizzes within the third-party platform, Connect Plus. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes and the grade will transfer to Canvas. Course Summary :
