Main objective:
Organizations must have leaders who possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to design, implement, and manage an effective compensation and benefits program to support the strategic mission of the organization. Additionally, managers must be able to incorporate this knowledge with sound decision-making skills to offer both the organization and the individual the most effective and efficient compensation, benefit, and total rewards system.
Tangible Educational Results:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Design a compensation survey and a compensation structure for an organization.
- Evaluate which benefits are legally required, as well as which benefits may be provided by an organization given various circumstances.
- Appraise the strengths and weaknesses of various pay-for-performance plans.
- Integrate biblical principles into the field of Compensation.
Course Assignment:
Textbook Readings and lecture presentations
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
The student will participate in five Discussions. Each Discussion consists of two parts, the thread, and the reply. Each thread must be supported by the textbook, have at least two scholarly/peer-reviewed citations in APA format, and scripture, and be at least 400 words excluding the reference section. For each Discussion, the student will reply to two other threads. Each reply must be supported by the textbook, at least two scholarly/peer-reviewed citations in APA format, scripture, and be at least 250 words excluding the reference section.
The student will create a Compensation Survey and Structure Assignment with the required support from the current edition of the Compensation textbook, scholarly/peer-reviewed citations, and biblical integration.
Each quiz will be open-book, open-notes, and contain multiple-choice and true/false questions.
