Course Description:

The dynamics of building a highly functioning team in order to accomplish a goal. Examination of how to choose team members and how to manage the team to deliver successful results. For information regarding prerequisites for this course, please refer to the Academic Course Catalog.

Rationale:

Teams fail for many reasons, but when one filters all of those reasons down to their essence, it is because of team dynamics. Understanding how to build effective teams and communicating within those teams is essential to team performance. This course will give students this understanding as well as tools to overcome typical team dysfunctions.

Measurable Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. • Apply theories of the life cycle of teams.
   • Evaluate the impact of internal and external forces on the behaviors of individuals in teams.
   • Evaluate the roles of individuals within a group.
