This course is designed to introduce students to the exciting industry of corporate aviation. The course does introduce some business theory, but most of the course is designed as a practical guide for those who are interested in being involved in the field of on-demand aviation. Students will be introduced to the importance of the feasibility study and then discover the pitfalls of aircraft selection and acquisition. The course also highlights topics like international operations, maintenance requirements, and the importance of a good safety culture.

Rationale
This course will introduce the student to the various aspects of corporate and business aviation. Students graduating from the Liberty University School of Aeronautics must be prepared to understand and implement business and management principles in a corporate or business aviation environment.
Measurable Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the rationale behind business aviation by using contemporary examples of small, medium, and/or large corporate flight departments.
- Evaluate aircraft options for a specific on-demand need by analyzing and interpreting data from an aircraft feasibility study.
- Recommend a solution for on-demand transportation by identifying and solving company travel inefficiencies.
- Identify key variables for managing both national and international flight operations.
- Recognize how timeless management principles affect professional and ethical decision-making.
Course Assignment
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided promptly for each discussion. Each initial thread must be in the narrated PowerPoint format and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the initial post, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates threads. Each reply must be 200 words. (MLO: A-F)
This is the culminating assignment for the course. The student will prepare an air transportation analysis proposal for the decision-makers of a fictitious company. Data and helps for this assignment are provided. Students will be asked to analyze, interpret, and make recommendations for an on-demand travel solution. The proposal is expected to be professional in appearance and must include the tables and charts developed for the narrated PowerPoint assignments. (MLO: A-F)
You will complete four quizzes in this course. Each quiz will be in a timed open-book/note format. You will need to access the Class Project Excel file, so be sure to have that open before beginning the quizzes. All quizzes are worth 50 points and you will have one hour to complete the quiz.
