Course Description
This course is the first of three sequential flight training courses that include the requisite aircraft and simulator training and experience required for the FAA Commercial Pilot practical test. During this course, students will complete approximately one-third of the aircraft and simulator training and experience hours required in the applicable commercial pilot training course outline (TCO).

Rationale
The purpose of this first of three sequential courses is for the student to partially fulfill the federally regulated training requirements necessary to complete the FAA Commercial Pilot practical test.
Measurable Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a satisfactory level of knowledge and flight skills proficiency to progress in the commercial pilot training curriculum.
- Discuss topics relevant to commercial pilot flight operations.
- Analyze commercial pilot topics using relevant aviation resources.
- Describe his/her biblical worldview as it relates to his/her role as an aviation professional.

Flight Course Student Expectations Quiz
This quiz consists of questions that were pulled from content within the FTA Student Handbook and the student video presentations attached in the reading and study section of module 1. This is an open book and open video exam that consists of 20 questions (multiple choice, true/false, and short answer). This exam is required and will provide you with some very important information for your success.

Weekly Progress Checks (16)
The student will complete a weekly progress report that includes a description of the week’s flight training. This is a graded journaling assignment that enables the course professor to monitor student progress.
Course Quizzes (2)
The student will complete two knowledge assignments pertaining to topics relevant to commercial flying/aviation.
Video Presentation
The student will choose from a list of provided topics and then prepare, record, and submit a 4–6-minute video presentation/briefing about that topic.
Meeting with Professor
The student will meet with the flight course professor via Skype (or other means) to discuss training progress, expectations, etc. at least one time during the term.
