Course Explanation:
This course focuses on a collaborative approach to patient-centered care. The emphasis is on the values and ethics of interprofessional practice, roles and responsibilities, Interprofessional communication skills, and teamwork to manage outcomes and improve quality.

Rationale:
This course incorporates the Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaboration for Health Care into principles and concepts of continuous quality improvement in health care for outcomes management. The doctor of nursing practice nurse must be prepared to lead Interprofessional collaborative teams to identify issues of quality improvement and safety, apply concepts and tools for quality and process improvement, and assess and evaluate outcomes. Additionally, this course provides the student with knowledge and skills to operationalize continuous quality improvement processes in a variety of health care settings, including primary care, public health, nursing, health care organizations, and emerging initiatives in resource-poor countries to manage outcomes.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided promptly for each discussion. Quality Improvement Plan
Teams of 2–3 students will work on a Continuous Quality Improvement Plan. The students will develop a 5–7-page section of the plan in the current APA format, which must include at least 4–5 references in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible.
